MISS ASIAN RUNWAY HEADS INTO THE MISS ENGLAND FINALS London, Friday 29th May 2009 Asian Runway in association with the Miss England competition hosted a special night of glamour and glitz for the official Miss Asian Runway pageant. The star studded event was covered by Brit Asia TV and Asian magazine The highlight of the night was the elaborate fashion show where the models wore a selection of outfits including asianwear provided by designer Rivaaz Fashion Boutique and make up & hair by the world famous Ash Kumar team. Each model was asked a question and the panel of celebrity judges had the task of deciding the winner, who would automatically go through directly to the grand finals of the Miss England competition. After some deliberation, the results were announced as follows: 2nd Runner up: Kim Lali Runner up: Kelly Schembri Winner: Reema Mehta Reema is now automatically in the grand finals of Miss England, bypassing all other heats, voting and semi finals etc due to Asian Runway's strong relationship with the Miss England brand who secured them a guaranteed spot for their winner in the finals. The winner of Miss England will go forward to the Miss World pageant. The winner, Reema was very excited at this fantastic once in a life time opportunity and is looking forward to being in the Miss England finals and has said of Asian Runway, "I just wanted to thank you again for all your help with the pageant". Reema is a part qualified Chartered Accountant and will be fully qualified by the end of the year. She has also started her own jewellery business, which encompasses procurement of pieces and design and manufacture of one off items. Reema is an avid sports fan and a keen runner. One of her biggest aspirations is to take part in the London Marathon to raise money for charity. The panel at the Miss England board was also impressed by Kelly and have put her into a special semi finals to be held on Mon 8 June 2009. If she is successful she will also then go forward to the Miss England finals. Kelly was quoted as saying about the Asian Runway team, " Thank you so much! This is amazing ! I cant thank you enough! " Kelly is a Performing Arts Graduate and a previous participant in a Maltese reality television talent contest. When asked about the success of the pageant and the upcoming Miss England finals, Jen, the manager of Asian Runway has said, "We want to wish Kelly the best of luck in the semi finals and qualifying into the grand finals. Best of luck also to Reema in the upcoming Miss England finals, where hopefully Kelly will be joining her. A special thanks to all of those who participated and helped out on this event to make it hugely successful." The Miss England finals will be held on MONDAY JULY 20th 2009 at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Edgeware road, London.
