When you are interested to pursue a career in modelling there are a few things you need to keep in mind to help you along the way:

Firstly, as a model it is extremely important to have the right photos to advertise yourself. You can not pursue a career in modelling with no photos to market yourself to clients with! The photos you use must be professional and not home snaps. Remember, clients will only book you based on the photos you have to represent yourself - so if you have no photos or not good enough photos, you are directly stopping yourself from working! If you want to be an IT programmer you would need to invest in a computer, so in the same way if you want to pursue a modelling career you will need to invest in a set of decent photos to advertise yourself. It is essential that you start looking after yourself. You need to ensure you have a healthy diet, drink lots of water, remain active, get enough sleep and try to avoid too much smoking / drinking. You are a canvas to your career so it is important you have a healthy look when you meet clients. It is important to make sure your nails, hair and skin is looked after also.

It is also important to have the right sort of personality. Remember no one wants to work with people who are difficult or disrespectful! So whenever you go on shoots or meet with clients or creatives always be professional, courteous and on your best behaviour. Always be willing to listen and take advice because remember, we have your best interest at heart and want the best from you.

It is vital that you return any calls should your booker call you. If you are serious about a career then you should be serious about work. There are a lot of people who say they want a career in modelling, yet when the work comes in and they are left messages they are simply too lazy to make the effort or even return the call. This is extremely unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour!! If you are serious about modelling as a career then you need to ensure that if you are ever left messages that you return the calls as soon as possible. Remember the longer you delay also, chances are the job may be given away to someone else who is more eager or committed! And people who have a habit of never returning calls will eventually stop being called!

Realistically speaking, supermodels are in a minority and it is a very competitive industry. But modelling as a career is fun and you will have some great experiences and meet interesting people. The most important thing is to always be yourself, be professional and courteous and to enjoy the experience!
